On the road update March 2009
Hi,
Just me again, today I am in Yuma, AZ with no load for the weekend so far. As you might guess I am not real happy with this as I don’t have the miles this week to be able to eat next week. I am hoping this will change later today.
I was in Albuquerque, NM last time I sent out an update. I sat there through Friday got a load on Saturday that picked up in Flagstaff, AZ that delivered in Otay Mesa, CA (San Diego area) I delivered it early, was able to have dinner and spend the night with my son Mitch and his family, I got new pictures of them, Leah is getting so big. It is so great for me when I can spend time with the kid’s. I am thankful to Grace’s parent that always make me feel so welcome in their home.
On Monday I got a load out of there that I dropped at the rail in Los Angeles, CA. The company didn’t have a load available so I thought that that was a good time to get my truck into the shop for the regular service that needed to be done by weeks end. I took the truck to the Colton yard to have the service done. I knew that my truck would be in the shop for at least one day so I rented a car so I would not be trapped at the yard.
While at the yard I got together with my friend Marie both Monday and Tuesday nights for dinner. On Monday night I spent the night at Marie’s daughter Denise’s home and had breakfast and lunch with her and her 1 year old son Abram. We also spent some time at the park. Marie and I have been good friends for so long that her family feels like family to me.
Well yes I kind of got back to work. I picked up a load that had 3 pick up locations and it took 2 days to get the load picked up. That is the load I delivered here in Yuma this morning. I only got 310 miles out of it and took 3 full days of my time so it was a really crummy load. That is the only load I have for this next weeks check so I really needed a good load with miles for the weekend.
As you can tell it has been a really good week for visiting, a really bad week for working. That is all I have going on. It was great to hear from those of you the updated me on what you have happening. I will close for now and write later.
Love,
Mom
