This past Wednesday we expirianced a harddrive failior on our current development system. This failior does not affect the website functionality. Utility the development system is repaired or replaced, plugin, theme, and application development will be placed on hold.

New Community Features

We have added a few community features. Considering that we do not have any active members at this point This is really an extending of features.

Added Group forum attachments.
Added live group chat.
Added privacy settings to profile fields.
Added album functions to user profile pages.
Added collaboration documents to groups.

These are some basic features that have been added. Some of the planned features include

Personal blog pages with sub-domain addresses (i.e. http://adam.kelloggskorner.com)
Member group creation.
other features.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts on these and future features. Membership registration has been opened. With this opening of registration We have added three groups.

Family ( a private group for family members only)
Palladium RPG ( a public group for play-by-post and live chat RPG)
Developers (a group linked to Development korner for coding buffs)

More groups will be added in the future, and group creation will be opened to members once sub-domain limitations for our server have been resolved.

Recovery efforts

Data and sites have been rebuilt for Adam’s Korner and Teresa’s Korner. Other sites had too much corruption on the backups that were on hand. Systems have been put in place to support data and site backups. We have also added site tampering checks. This allows us to check each site for possible outside changes and code injection. Comment Spam filters have also been activated on all sites to discourage spammers from leaving comments. If you are a site administrator, please be sure to check you comment spam filters on a regular basis.

Data lose

We had some database issues. Data from several sites in the Kellogg’s Corner network was lost. These sites include Adam’s Korner, Komic Korner, Game Korner, Glenn’s Korner, and Jacques Korner. Some of these site will be off line for an extended time while they are rebuild. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Site rebuild

As you can see, we are working on a complete rebuild of the site. With this rebuild all the old posts and comments have been removed. This gives us the ability to re-brand Kellogg’s Korner from the ground up.

We will be continuing to make changes over the coming weeks. One major change is the implementation of Buddypress, a social networking tool that allows us to make topic groups and forums for our users. We are looking forward to using these and other features.
